My husband filed a petition for divorce two weeks ago after telling me three months ago that he had done so. He kept telling me I would be served at any time but I was not. I have now hired my own lawyer and we are still waiting for service. Is there a legal time limit within which I have to be served after the petition is filed? Is there any action I can take to speed up the process - such as filing myself? I just want it to be over. Many thanks for any responses.
