Hi - Happy New Year. Innocent Spouse laws are generally for income tax problems. But, here you can use the concept. She should be held accountable for the debt and you should be sure to get a court order stating this very clearly. Also you want an "indemnity" clause where she will be responsible to you if AFDC collects the money from you (by wage garnishment for example). Good luck. Debra.
